PRINCIPLES OF ANIMATION - hand animation lessons

BEGINNER LEVEL - FLIPBOOK

Create a 2 second (24fps) hand-drawn flipbook animation.

PART 1 - ANALOG FLIPBOOK
Use 48 - 3x5 index cards. When finished, record a video of the flipbook and add it to your digital portfolio.

PART 2 - DIGITAL FLIPBOOK
Upload your flipbook from part 1 using a camera or scanner into Photoshop, set up the frames for final production, export the video into Premiere, and add sound. When finished, export the video file and add it to your digital portfolio.

BEGINNER LEVEL - STOPMOTION ANIMATION

Create a 30 second animation at 30fps (900 frames/pictures) using any media you would like (Candy, Yourself, Action Figures, Clay, Whiteboard Drawing, etc). Upload the pictures into Premiere, and add sound. When finished, export the video file and add it to your digital portfolio.

PART 1 - STORYBOARDING:
First, create a working title for your animation. Then, explain your animation in full with an introduction. Lastly, draw each major scene of your animation and explain what is happening in each frame.
